Rob is a Portfolio Manager for the Environmental Improvement Plan (EIP). He leads the monitoring of EIP commitments and reporting progress towards the EIP’s environmental targets and goals. This includes the publication and laying in Parliament of EIP Annual Progress Reports.
Recognising the important role the Office for Environmental Protection plays in scrutinising he government’s progress in improving the natural environment, Rob leads the responses to the OEP’s annual reports. Rob also leads the secretariat for Defra’s Environment Committee that oversees implementation of the EIP.
To provide a bit of balance to what is a busy role, Rob is a strong advocate for wellbeing activities at Defra. He is an active member of Defra’s wellbeing champions network, and leads on a range of activities that support and help colleagues prioritise their health and wellbeing in the workplace. Most notably, as a yoga teacher, Rob has delivered many yoga sessions for colleagues from across Defra group and civil service wide.
